Message from our Vice President Jackie Gould, MS, RN, Vice President of Nursing Services, believes the nurse patient relationship is key to achieving quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.  Nursing at the GSHS is exciting and dynamic.  Grow is a key word with us, as GSHS is expanding rapidly.  New services are being added and others are growing in volume.  We have added RN positions to keep up with this exciting growth, as well as to provide a high level of care.  This means there are career opportunities resulting in growth for individuals.

We also support career growth through our Be A Nurse Program and onsite classes for RN to BSN. At the GSHS, nurses are valued for their professional knowledge as key members of the clinical team.  Nurses are expected to be fully engaged in patient care, professional development, education, and mentorship at all levels.  Staff have a voice in decisions that affect their practice and work environment.  To promote participation in decision-making, staff has an opportunity to serve on a variety of councils.  One such council is the Nurse Advisory Council, which meets monthly with Jackie Gould.  This council is made up of staff nurses who advise the VP on practice issues.  Lively discussions are the norm at this meeting.
