The Department of Social Services assists patients and their families in coping with difficulties, which may accompany illness. The staff provides support and guidance to inpatient and outpatient areas including: Dialysis, Oncology, Maternity, Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical Units, Cardio and Vascular Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Rehabilitation Unit and the Transitional Care Unit. Primary responsibilities include communicating with members of the health care team, advocating for patient needs and coordinating patient's discharge. The Social Workers can provide a wealth of information concerning community resources.
