Nursing Careers

Message from our Vice President

Nursing leaders at Good Samaritan believe the nurse-patient relationship is key to achieving quality outcomes, as well as both patient and staff satisfaction.  At Good Samaritan our nurses have the opportunity to make a difference to their patients and their profession every day.

Nurses at Good Samaritan are encouraged to be engaged in decision-making at the unit and division level through participation in nursing councils.  Professional development is encouraged and supported by avenues such as tuition reimbursement, nursing grand rounds and the nursing simulation lab.

Jackie Gould, MS, RN,
Vice President of Nursing Service

Quality patient care is extremely important to our nurses.  We measure our outcomes in nurse sensitive indicators such as hospital-acquired infections, skin breakdown and patient falls, all of which are better than national benchmarks.

The Good Samaritan Health System is a dynamic and growing organization which offers many opportunities to practice nursing in a variety of settings including inpatient units, the outpatient surgery center, cardiac surgery, physician office practices, home care and hospice.

At Good Samaritan you can experience the friendliness of a community hospital with the advantage of working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving healthcare center - allowing you to learn and grow throughout your career.

Our nursing leadership team is committed to making Good Samaritan the premier practice site for nursing in Central PA.  If you would like to learn more about this dynamic, growing team, take the next step and start the application process.
