The Good Samaritan Hospital has selected Emergency Medical Associates (EMA), Parsippany, NJ, to provide emergency department physician staffing services.
“In Emergency Medical Associates, we have found a strong clinical partner that shares our dedication to high-quality patient care,” said Good Samaritan President and CEO Robert J. Longo. “EMA enjoys an exceptional reputation for effective physician staffing and delivery of patient-centered care.”
EMA will serve as the physician medical practice for the emergency department. The company will provide board-certified emergency physicians to provide care. The company will also be able to share its insights and innovations for patient care based on care standards established at other EMA hospitals and national best practices.
“The Good Samaritan Health System is known for delivering high-quality care, having been recognized nationally for its clinical expertise,” said Raymond Iannaccone, MD, FACEP, president and chief executive officer of EMA. “Emergency Medical Associates is excited to partner with Good Samaritan and expand our presence in Pennsylvania. While we have provided urgent care services in Pennsylvania for several years, this is our first emergency department management contract in the state.”
Emergency Medical Associates began staffing the emergency department Jan. 1, 2014. Marc Bonin, DO, FACOEP, serves as the Emergency Department Medical Director. The emergency department sees 54,000 patients annually.
