The Good Samaritan Health System is pleased to announce a new partnership with RehabCare Group, Inc., a national healthcare services provider of post-acute care rehabilitation and therapy services. Beginning March 28, RehabCare will be serving as a management partner assisting Good Samaritan in utilizing best practices in the delivery of care to patients. These efforts will maximize operating efficiencies in these areas while continuing to provide a high-level of quality care to Lebanon County residents.
RehabCare will provide management and operational support services for the following departments:
- Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
- Outpatient and acute care therapy services, including
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
“As we prepare for national and statewide healthcare reform initiatives, our partnership with RehabCare will enable us to adapt more rapidly to new regulatory changes (such as post acute bundled payment processes in 2015) by leveraging the RehabCare’s expertise and knowledge of these service lines,” said Good Samaritan President and CEO Robert J. Longo. “This agreement provides the resources necessary to manage and deliver the high-level quality of care that our community expects and deserves.”
The arrangement will preserve all employee jobs. Several Good Samaritan employees will become employees of RehabCare.
Good Samaritan will continue to own all services and employ most staff. Daily operations will continue in the same locations and use the same phone numbers. From a patient perspective, this transition will be seamless.
