At Good Samaritan we
understand that women have special needs. That’s why we have partnered
with Women’s Health Center of Lebanon to offer two new minimally
invasive gynecological surgical procedures that will not only get busy
women back on their feet fast, but with little to no scarring.
Gynecological surgery for hysterectomy and urinary incontinence which
previously required large incisions that resulted in lengthy hospital
stays, painful wounds and permanent scars can now be done as an
outpatient procedure thanks to new advances in surgical techniques
offered by Good Samaritan and Women’s Health Center of Lebanon.
Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
Conditions
such as adhesions, endometriosis and fibroids sometimes require a
hysterectomy. If your doctor has recommended you have a hysterectomy
you now have the option of minimally invasive surgery. Today women can
benefit from our laparoscopic approach to hysterectomy which requires
only small incisions for operating, versus the old hip-to-hip incision
typical with abdominal hysterectomy. The benefit is a much shorter
hospital stay (usually less than 24 hours), less pain, less blood loss,
less infection risk, and quicker return to normal activities. Most
hysterectomies can be handled in this manner.
