Laboratory Testing
The Good Samaritan Department of Laboratory Services maintains two full-service laboratories and a blood donor center, accredited by the College of American Pathologists and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of Laboratories and the Food and Drug Administration. Testing procedures and instruments are continually updated, allowing the department to offer a wide selection of services and remain current with national testing standards.
There are multiple satellite specimen collection sites and an accompanying courier and/or phlebotomy services to bring specimens from physician offices, clinics and nursing homes to the main laboratory for testing.
Laboratory testing services require a signed physician's order and are available on an inpatient or emergency basis 24 hours a day. Outpatient testing is available as indicated below.
