The Infection Control nurse is a registered nurse who is responsible for the coordination of the Infection Control program for the Hospital and all corporate affiliates by epidemiological surveillance of infections and formulation of policies and procedures to control infections throughout The Good Samaritan health care system. The nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the infection control program. This includes managing the operational aspects of the program in a cost-effective manner. This position contributes to the organization through ongoing support of the organization’s philosophy, objectives and educational efforts. The nurse also participates in community education activities and consults as a health resource to the wider community.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science degree or plan to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree. Active participation APIC. Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience. Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse Licensure. Certified in Infection Control or willingness to become Infection Control certified.
