Ways to Donate

Every gift received by the Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation helps make a difference in the lives of our patients and their loved ones. There are many ways you can make a gift to support our life saving work and each gift is truly appreciated.

General Donation donations used by the Health System to offset the most urgent needs.

Memorial Donation
- donations made to honor the life of a friend, loved one, colleague who has passed away.

Tribute – donation made in celebration of a significant life or health event, i.e. being cancer free for five years, annual anniversary of a bypass surgery, that has improved the quality of life.

Planned Gifts – Legacy gifts are given as part of an estate planning process in order to ensure the smooth, efficient and tax prudent transition of assets in order to adequately provide for surviving family members as well as worthy organizations that add value and meaning to the community.   Your personal circumstances will dictate the best planned giving vehicles and the Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation staff will be happy to work with your tax, legal and financial advisor(s) to find the best ways to include the Hospital in your estate plans.  Here are just some of the possible planned giving tools:

  • Wills - Naming the Good Samaritan Hospital in your will to receive a portion of your assets.
  • Life Insurance - purchasing a life insurance policy naming the Good Samaritan Hospital as the beneficiary.  Premiums are often tax deductible.
  • Gift Annuity - A charitable gift annuity is an irrevocable agreement whereby the donor creates a fixed lifetime income stream through a donation of cash, appreciated securities or other assets. There may be significant tax benefits to setting up a gift annuity.
  • Trusts - there are many types of trust arrangements that depending on your estate and circumstances can provide income for trust beneficiaries during their lifetime or in perpetuity.  Please contact the Foundation office or your professional advisor(s) for more information and to determine if a trust is right for your situation and goals.
