Nationally recognized heart care, right in your backyard.
At Good Samaritan, we offer a range of high-quality cardiovascular services that rival those of world-class urban medical centers. In particular, our cardiac services were developed in response to the urgent healthcare needs of our community. We believe that Lebanon County residents shouldn’t have to go to Harrisburg, Hershey or Lancaster for excellent cardiovascular care.
With the needs of the community in mind, we began an open heart surgery program in April 2005, and a cardiac interventional program in June 2005. With our unique universal bed model for all open heart patients, we’ve been able to admit and discharge open heart surgery patients from the same room—eliminating transfers, standardizing care and improving outcomes.
We want to keep you and yours as healthy as possible, so we’re constantly expanding our cardiac services. For example, in June 2008, we added Electrophysiology Services (EP) to our program. With EP, we’re able to review the heart’s electrical activity and pathways, helping us diagnose abnormal rhythms. This knowledge allows us to give individualized life-saving treatments that are better-suited for specific conditions. That’s powerful medicine and comforting care, in action.
We currently provide cardiovascular services in the following areas:
- Non-invasive services
- Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
- Cardiovascular Operating Room
- Cardiovascular Unit / Intensive Care Unit (CVU/ICU)
- Telemetry Unit (3South)
- Cardiac Rehabilitation
