Cardiac Rehabilitation
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Team offers
inpatient and outpatient programs for patients with heart disease and
individuals at risk of developing heart disease.
Inpatient Cardiac
Rehabilitation includes patient / family education and support related to one's
cardiac diagnosis as well as bedside exercise for the open-heart
patient.
Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation begins with physician-referred
monitored and supervised exercise sessions in the beautiful and well equipped
Samuel and Sadie Ostrow Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. In addition, the Cardiac
Rehab Heart Health Education Series is offered weekly, with recurring programs
on Heart Healthy Nutrition, Lifetime Fitness, Stress Management For Your Heart
and Understanding Heart Disease.
In addition to our Cardiac Rehab
program, a short-term (12-week) Medical Fitness Program is also offered for
individuals completing outpatient cardiac rehab or for those individuals who
have diagnoses not in need of monitored exercise therapy. This program is
designed to provide exercise therapy and risk-reduction management for the
cardiac patient as well as the individual with chronic disease and/or
disability.
The Samuel and Sadie Ostrow Cardiac Rehabilitation Center is
located on the ground floor of The Good Samaritan Hospital.
All Heart
Health Educational programs are free and open to the community. However,
registration is required. Please call the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at
270-7920 to register.
