Be A
Healthcare Professional Program
The Good Samaritan Health
System has instituted the Be A Healthcare Professional Program to support and
encourage employees who are enrolled in, or plan to enroll in, an Associate
Degree program to become a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist. Employees
must meet the eligibility requirements, agree to work for the health system
while attending school, and commit to work for the health system after
graduation.
To be eligible an
employee must:
- Be accepted into an
accredited Associate Degree Nursing or Respiratory Therapy Program.
- Have completed six (6)
months of satisfactory full-time or regular part-time employment.
- Be enrolled full-time in
the clinical portion of an accredited program.
- Maintain a C or better
grade point average.
- Work a minimum of 40 hours
per pay period (.5 FTE status).
- Complete a Be A Healthcare
Professional Application Form and obtain the approval of the Department Manager
prior to enrollment.
- Not be in the disciplinary
process at the current time.
- Work with supervisor to
have flexible scheduling.
- Meet with the
Educational Assistance Committee.
- Course of education must
be uninterrupted.
